Bahama Mamas

  • 1 oz light rum
  • 1 oz coconut rum
  • 2 oz orange juice
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • dash grapefruit juice
  • dash grenadine

Mix with cracked ice in a shaker or blender and strain into a chilled double Old Fashioned glass.

Yield: One drink

From The New American Bartender’s Guide

I mixed everything up in a big measuring cup and then poured into our fancy glasses. I tripled the recipe because I thought these glasses held more than a double Old Fashioned, but it ended up making three drinks after all. I played with the recipe a little adding a bit more coconut rum and orange juice to make it tastier. I have to say they were delicious! We aren’t sure why we have a “cookbook” for making cocktails. This one is definitely going into the donate pile as we almost never drink and when we do it is usually a nice glass of wine or a malted beverage. 😉
